My Intern Experience at In Good Company

Since starting college, I always wondered what it would be like to work in the corporate world. Working on projects in class would inspire thoughts of one day applying what I learned to a job I loved. As an intern at In Good Company, I had the opportunity to do just that.

My first day was filled with nerves and anxiety — I had no idea what to expect. Not to mention it was my first internship. But looking back on this past summer, my experience as an intern at In Good Company exceeded all my expectations. They even allow dogs in the office so who wouldn’t love that?

Throughout my internship, I worked on various tasks and projects for the marketing team. Using Mailchimp, a digital marketing platform, I was able to create email campaigns for various projects, which I really enjoyed. Creating email campaigns for In Good Company’s audience was one of the highlights of my internship. I was also given the opportunity to shadow two incredible copywriters. Their coaching and guidance helped me to become a stronger writer.

One of the most memorable experiences was working with my fellow interns. Our main project for the summer was to create a welcome kit for new hires at In Good Company. We worked together to brainstorm ideas, present concepts to the larger team and finally, create the kit. In the end, we were all proud to be given the opportunity to create something that reflects the In Good Company brand and will be used in the future. It was so inspiring to see all of us bring our different experiences, backgrounds and skills together to bring our project to life.

Working closely with the team gave me the chance to see how a business utilizes a communications plan in the marketing industry. Having the opportunity to see both fields work together, in order to help In Good Company grow, showed me the bigger role they both play in business growth. It made me eager to learn more about the communications field.

When it comes to writing and communicating, working at In Good Company helped with my professional growth while also strengthening my confidence. Working alongside my supervisor made me more passionate about the path that I chose. This internship has been one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had. It not only helped me grow, but it also taught me so many values that I will bring with me for the rest of my journey. As I’m going into my junior year at Suffolk University, I will be taking various courses and I can’t wait to use the skills that I learned.
